Staying Cool This Summer

Staying Cool This Summer

Extremely hot temperatures are making waves across the country so we’ve compiled a short list of tips to keep in mind to help beat the heat.

Please note, we aren’t doctors, just a group of moms who love spending time outside

  1. Avoid going out during the hottest part of the day

This simple step can be impactful in keeping cool during extreme heat. Move your plans to early morning or later afternoon if at all possible.

  1. Cover your head with a hat

A hat does a great job of keeping the direct sun from beating down on your head.

  1. Take regular breaks indoor or in a shady spot

Taking a short break indoors or under shade can be extremely helpful in keeping you cooler.

  1. Keep your skin cool with water, a wet shirt or a putting your feet in a cool pool or stream

Wetting your shirt, or dipping your feet and hands in a cool pool or stream can be incredibly effective in cooling down your body.

  1. Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine

Staying hydrated is incredibly important when out in hot temperatures. Drinking water and avoiding caffeine can help your body stay well hydrated.

The first hot temperatures of the year can catch us all off guard. We hope that these simple tips help you to stay safe and have fun this summer.

Take care,

The Arctic Lynx Team
